Matt Bradbury – Matt (and Laura) bought what is now Hometown Hardware/Bradbury kitchen and home in September 2004. Prior to living his dream of owning a hardware store, Matt has managed for and owned hardware, farm, and clothing stores for nearly 30 years. Matt actually worked for the previous owner of the store when he was just a teenage babe. Matt and his brother Russell painted professionally, giving Matt his expert knowledge in paint. In his free time, Matt is the drummer for J. Morrison Band, he enjoys long walks on the beach, and can be found always “waiting for next year” of Kansas City Chiefs Football. Matt is of British decent and is known in the Cornwall region of England as “Lord of the Manor.”

Laura Buterbaugh Bradbury – Laura is the Buyer, Cooking Class Coordinator, Marketing Manager, and behind the scenes know it all of Bradbury kitchen and home. She comes from an entire family of great cooks which means she didn’t feel the need to begin cooking until she married Matt in 2003 when they realized that one of them had to learn or they would starve to death. She is a living testimony to the power of our Cooking Classes. Laura is a full time Real Estate Broker at Buterbaugh & Handlin and therefore can only be seen flashing in and out of the store in whirlwind. In her spare time Laura likes to read, go to Kansas State Wildcat football games, travel to faraway places, and is Groupie #1 for J. Morrison Band. Little known facts about Laura – She is freakishly strong and can also touch her tongue to her nose. These two skills are unrelated.

Kat Bradbury is the Public Relations director, which basically means that she makes cameo appearances at the store and charms customers with her cuteness. Kat has been at Bradbury Kitchen and Home since birth, literally.

This is David Jones. When I first started working here I was too young to grow a beard. Now my beard is gray—ouch. I was here before Matt and Laura took over the joint, so I have seen many changes. Yet it still remains a Home Town Hardware store, and I hope it always will be—even when my beard reaches my chest.
One day at work I fell victim to one of the classic blunders – The most famous of which is “never get involved in a land war in Asia” – but only slightly less well-known is this: “Never go against Matt Bradbury when the Chiefs are playing.” As a Dallas Cowboys fan, I lost a bet to Matt and had to wear a Chiefs shirt to the store for a day.
